My new 15R has a decent but not great screen. I wouldn't call it "grainy" exactly, but it's in that direction. I'm wondering if any 15R owners have replaced their stock screen with something else? Maybe higher res also? Thanks.

I'm also highly interested in an answer! I'm seriously thinking of ugprading the screen to a higher resolution but I just can't find any good info on what screen that might be compatible. I've seen that Dell XPS 15 share the exact same panels (for 1366x768) but the XPS 15 is also upgradeable to 1920x1080 screen by Dell. So the questions is, can the 15R be upgraded to the same panel as well? Which one would that be in that case?

i've tried for 3 months!!! but failed, so frustrated.
actually you can buy a hi-res 15.6 16:9 screen, that's fine. but after that, you need to change that cable too, coz the cable comes with 15r can ONLY provide 1366x768 res. unfortunately, I can't find any cable can be used on 15r and support 1920x1080 res, because 15r's screen cable is combined the cam cable, and the interface to the motherboard is quite unique, different from 1555, the only way to archive that seems to alter the cable by yourself, but it involved welding technique, i couldn't make it and finally waste a cable too. so if anyone can make it done, i'll be very please to know!

You might be able to borrow other cables from Dell's model lines that offer higher than 720p, but you might lose webcam/microphone. Maybe you can steal one from the Latitude E6510 as that supports 1080p. Good luck.

you sure that the e6510 cable have the same connector interface through the motherboard that the 15r n5010 uses?
