Hi guys.
I'm having a massive problem with a Dell Inspiron n5110 which I just rebuilt.
The system only powers on when it feels like it. I bought a 90w power adapter for it. Is this a motherboard fault?
When I actually do get it to power on, It does not detect any SATA devices.. Not even the DVD drive! I've even tried using a DVD to SATA HDD Caddy but to no avail! Oh my gosh! What on earth do I do!?! I've tried resetting the BIOS to it's default settings, and reseating the HDD/DVD but that did nothing at all!![]()
I've also tried several different SSD's/HDD's that work in my other laptops, so none of them are broken.

Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
Between not detecting the drives and "only powering on when it feels like it", I would definitely say there is some sort of motherboard issue. The n5110 should still power up and run with either the 65W or 90W adapter (though dGPU models might complain with the 65w).

It is the GT 525m model.
Well, darn. Looks like I'll be dishing out $130 for a new board. Thanks for confirming that it's the board! I did buy it used off ebay.
