    Hello,
I´ve been searching for a laptop, for 3 months now, and i came to the conclusion, that Dell, would be the best choice for my budget (900 €). But im quite indecise yet, i dont know which one to buy, Inspiron 15r or XPS 15 ?

    Inspiron 15r
    XPS 15
Which would be better for playing games, such as COD 4: black ops, GTA IV, mafia 2 etc. ( not very often)

    Thanks

The XPS15 will be better, especially for games in a year or two. I have a 15R and an XPS 14 so I can compare those. The XPS 14 has a 420M (vs your 435m) and the 15R has an HD550v (updated 4650 vs. the 5650). Between the two, I can run Warcraft on Ultra on the XPS, and the 15R can't even touch that--it runs, but it's very choppy. The 5650 would run it better, but that you'd be much happier you chose the XPS above in a year.

and have you found any issues with the 15r? (issues, like, heating etc...)

I would really appreciate, if you, someone who has a 15r tells me, how is the quality of the 15r (pad, keyboard etc..)
    Thank you a lot man!

My 15R runs warm but feels just fine after an hour or two on Warcraft. I am watching temps but nothing even close to worrisome. It disperses heat more evenly than the XPS. The XPS gets very hot on the processor side -- but its GPU is working a lot harder. Both about the same max and mean temps though. I think the 15R gets hot more "evenly."

The keyboard on the 15R is softer than the XPS but acceptable. I am pretty happy with the build itself and the firmness of the panel, case etc. The screen is pretty bendy but its VERY thin, so I think that's fine. The outer plastic on the screen is a bit "cheap"/bendy. The rest of the case is actually nicer than I had expected. The screen sits up nicely with no give once opened. I do wish the keys were backlit. The touchpad is just fine--nothing out of the ordinary. It works.

Haven´t you ever felt like if anything on the laptop went wrong? audio issues, touchpad etc.?

Hi! I'm thinking about getting a Dell laptop too and I'm torn between the inspiron 15r and the xps 15. Which one would be better for work? ie not too heavy to carry around and other features like that. Thanks

I would suggest getting the XPS 15/XPS 17 (if you are really serious about gaming) because the Inspiron 15x series is mostly for college students that just want to type papers and once in while do something daring like go on youtube.

Definitely the XPS 15 if you want to game.

And get the 1080p display if you can, it's worth it even if it does cause the system to slightly exceed your budget. Try looking online for a coupon.
