Hey guys, sorry if this isn't the correct area for this thread.
I recently purchased a dell Inspiron 17 7000 with the i7, 16g ram, 1TB HDD with an 8gig cache, HD screen, Nvidia 750m gpu etc. and I saw a thread noting that many people replaced the initial 1 TB HDD with a SDD. I have very little experience replacing computer parts so I'm hoping you folks can help me out!
First, would this SSD do the trick? If not, can you recommend me one from newegg.ca that would be sufficient.
SAMSUNG 840 EVO MZ-7TE250BW 2.5" 250GB SATA 6Gb/s TLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) - Newegg.ca
Second, how do I ensure that windows 8 copys over to the new drive, or would the 8gig cache contain the windows portion of my computer? Any thoughts?
Lastly, how difficult would this be for someone who has no experience? Is there a guide?
Sorry for all the questions guys, but pretty pumped to own this laptop, comes in the mail tomorrow!
Thanks!

Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
The 840 EVO should work fine. Since you will then have an SSD as your primary drive, you can pretty much just ignore the cache drive when you re-install/clone Windows.
Changing the drive shouldn't be too difficult; you can consult the service manual for instructions:

Hi
Did you install SAMSUNG 840 EVO?
As you may know 14" Inspiron has width problem with 7mm SSDs and they do not fit. Seems they need hard to find 5mm SSD.
Did you have same problem with this 17" Inspiron or not?
Thnx in advance for sharing your experience.
