I'm looking to get a SSD for my friend for a Christmas gift seeing as how they are pretty cheap now. He has a Inspiron 1720 and I don't think he plans on getting a new laptop anytime soon, so I think this will be the most beneficial upgrade to his machine. I'm just curious as to what I need to make sure this will be all set for him. I have done some research and it looks like there is two HDD bays. I'm thinking having the potential SSD as the primary (OS) and HDD as the secondary (storage). I'm assuming I will need to get a cage to place the SSD in also, can anyone recommend me one? Between the placement of the SSD/HDD and the cage is there anything else I need to do?

    Thanks in advance.

Just buy a HDD caddy for either Vostro 1700 (same chassis) or Inspiron 1720 with the interposer. Not much else.
