I've been hunting on the Dell site but cant find these parts. I'm after a price in the UK fom Dell or a cheaper source if anyone knows one ?

    1) Dell 355 Bluetooth adapter
    2) Dell internal slimline BlueRay player

Sorry I don't know the part numbers.

Does anyone also know if it will be possible ( either now or in the future ) to upgrade my 1720's 8600GT for the 8800 series ?

    Cheers

Oy... The Bluetooth you can buy for cheap from dell ( http://search.dell.com/searchcom_re...95&redpe=150dff4d-364a-504c-0593-94e81b798306) or on ebay( http://cgi.ebay.com/BRAND-NEW-DELL-...ryZ44999QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) for cheaper... Shoot for the 360 adapter though as its better.
The Internal player though is gonna cost ya, Dell doesnt make the player its from one of the big makers. You should probably check on NewEgg for one. As for possible, its not just possible it is simple and easy :)
Dell provides all the instructions to do so on their website.

Now your video problem is more touchy... the answer is No. You cannot upgrade to the 8800 series used in the 1730, its a different form factor... The only conceivable upgrade to your card would be the 7950 from the xps 1710, which would require a small amount desoldering and resoldering to acomplish. The heat pipes dont match but the cards are the same shape/size. Thats also easy, but somewhat scarier.
