    Hi,
Does anyone know the technical difference between Inspiron 1720 and Vostro 1700?
Which one is best quality? I mean, the monitor, sound, etc.
    Thanks

Price, color, and versions of vista are the only differences. And you cant use dell financing on the vostros.

Just this?, are not the monitor, mother board or other hardware different?
If I customize an Inspiron 1720 and Vostro 1700 with the same features, do i get exactly the same notebook?

I might add a few more differences: The vostro lines include the 'strike zone' and have sealed keyboards to avoid dust and/or spills going to the compoenents. Check that on the Vostro line description in the Dell website.

    What's the 'strike zone'?

That refers to the added protection Dell places around the hard drive to protect it in case the notebook is dropped.

Are you sure? They are not mentioned in the Inspiron description in their webpage.

It was up earlier this year, but they changed the site's interactive features.

However. This link in the Dell Forum shows that, they do have these features :)

Funny, nevertheless seems to be true. Then is just the price/design difference.
