I finally configured and ordered a Studio 17 on Friday, so, I'm in super-paranoid "I know they'll announce a major new thing on Monday" mode... :)

And, I just saw a Dell Inspiron 17 30 mentioned in a Dell banner ad for "Red White and Blu-Ray". The text "Inspiron 1730" can't be clicked and I haven't found any other references to it.

It might be a typo.... But, does anyone know if there's, well, going to be an updated Inspiron 17" laptop released on oh - say Monday?

that's very odd, I'd put money on a type - I doubt they would hint at an upcoming laptop in banners...can you link to the banner?

And... There goes any cred I'll ever have.

No, it doesn't seem that I can link to it. Stupid, stupid, stupid. I knew I should have screen cap'd it. It was one of their scrolling / flipping ads. But, honestly, I've gone to both their EPP and non-EPP sites so many times (even just today) that I can't remember exactly how I got to their "Red White and Blu-Ray" ad.

My bad - I swear I saw it, but, it seems that I can't currently prove it and that it was most likely a typo.

    Sorry.

lotta221211, I agree with your comments - this is probably pointless, but, I finally got back to the banner ad that I found earlier. I got to it via the Dell EPP link for Southwest Airlines - while we use lots of Dell PCs, I still seriously doubt that they're purposefully giving us a "sneak peek" at a new laptop :)

It's close to, but, definitely different than the ad you posted. And, it most definitely shows an "Inspiron 1730". Unfortunately, there's not enough detail in the picture to tell if it's showing anything other than the lid of a current 1720.

    Here's the link:

Ah ok I just assumed the link I had was it due to the name and dates. I'd give Dell an email and ask them about it.
