Just bought this thing Saturday and one thing I've noticed is it makes a slight "knock" noise right before the fan kicks on about 70% of the time. Is this something to be concerened about? Has anyone had something similar? The fan sounds normal otherwise. It doesn't seem to affect performance at all as far as I know, it's just annoying.

FWIW, I just updated the BIOS to A06 and that did nothing. I also tried messing with the power settings and switched the cooling options to passive and that really did not do much either.

    Thanks in advance!

Nothing, huh? Maybe I'm just being paranoid.

The fan also does seem to kick on a little more than it should but since I've never owned a laptop before I could be wrong. It seems to kick on about every two minutes but that's when I'm doing audio editing where the CPU is being used pretty heavily. If I’m just doing light stuff, maybe every 4 to 5 minutes. Does that sound normal?

I have noticed the knocking once in a while if I have it in my lap, but just sitting on my desk I've never heard it. I mainly use mine for browsing and watching movies, and when its on my desk, the fan isn't on very often. When it is on, it is pretty quiet.
