Anyone who has a Inspiron 17R SE laptop experiencing issues of random dropouts with the Intel Centrino 2230 wireless card? I was gaming today and it was annoying when my wireless connection would random dropout. I alt tabbed and I see the Windows wireless card icon display a searching for networks symbol.

I installed the latest drivers but it still seems to be an issue. I am not sure if its my ISP connection or my router has some settings which are causing me to drop out randomly but its rather annoying. Regular web browsing doesn't seem to be an issue its when I am trying to game or watch a streaming event when this occurs. Any clues would help. Thanks.

    Hi,

Please connect the system to any other available network and if it works fine with other networks, it could be an issue with the router.
You may also the try the below mentioned steps.

    • Open Device Manager and locate the wireless card.
    • Right Click on the Wireless card and select properties.
    • Under the Power management Tab- remove the check mark for the option “Allow the system to turn off this device to save power”
    • Under the Advanced tab disable the N mode.
    • Change the wireless channels properties to 11 or 6.
    • Disable Bluetooth Collaboration.

I hope this helps. Please do write back in case you need any further assistance.

    Thanks and Regards

I am not the OP but the problem that they are having is very similar to mine, I have attempted steps in your guide to adjust my adapter, as my network is "as tight as a drum, sir" with a beautiful router to boot. 35 days uptime since i kicked out the power cable and that's about it.

I will let you know if the connection does not stay stable enough to download the entire android SDK, it has been dropping out every second or so update. Surprisingly, it didn't drop out once when playing Diablo 3, which confuses me somewhat.

Seems to drop out whenever i lock windows 7, there is the "disconnected hardware" sound and then i have to troubleshoot problems where it actually resets my network adapter and then it works fine. Is it possible i've installed the network drivers in the wrong order? is there a fix for this?
