    Hello,
I am new to this forum.
I purchased a new Dell Inspiron 17r latprop with the 2GB dedicated video card.
Right out of the box as soon as plugged in the AC adapter, a message came up saying 65w adapter dedected, please use at least a 130 watt adapter.
I called Dell support and they sent me a new 90w adapter.
As soon as I plugged it in, I got the same message, instead saying a 90w adapter detected.
    Appreciate any informatoin regarding this.
    I'm stumped.

My 17R (second gen) has a 1 gb Geoforce 525 Video card, are you sure yours has 2 gb? I don't know why it's giving you that message, I would definitely get with tech support again. It shouldn't be doing that. Maybe someone else will have a better idea of what could be wrong, but I'm stumped by this as well as it takes a 90w adapter. :( Good luck! :D

Hrm what CPU do you have? That maybe causing the issue OR something is funky with your motherboard. AFAIK all new Inspirons with dGPU + quad core need at least a 90. You may want to call up Dell support and have them send you the 130 watt adapter..
