I have a 5010 (well actually a m501r) and have ordered a 5110 from the outlet. I went into a store to try the keyboard of the 5110 and it is the worst keyboard i have ever used.
Anyone know if they keyboards can be swapped over i.e. is the keyboard the same physical size on both? The outlet one isn't here yet but i want to return it unopened if i cant swap the keyboard over.
Any insights are much appreciated.

I don't think so, the N5110 uses chicklet whereas the N5010 is a standard keyboard. And completely different palmrest so no go.

Im hoping the actual keyboard is the same size, i foolishly did not measure they 5010 and 5110 in the store. I think the palmrest only has a bigger trackpad. Laptop keyboards usually swap completely so I don't think the chicklet vs normal keyboard should be an issue. It looks like the spacing between the chicklet keys are not part of the laptop rather they are built into the keyboard part.

I went back to the store and measured them, they are both the same size so I will have a go at swapping them when the new one arrives.

Where the keyboard fits into the palmrest on the N5010 while the N5110 uses like the HP style mounting style. It's not going to fit.

Fixed the awful keyboard flex with lots of adhesive foam squares strategically placed on the chassis under the keyboard. Took a few iterations to get it just right but the keyboard is tolerable now.
Inspiron 5010 and 5110 keyboards interchangeable?
