    Hi everyone.

I have an Inspiron 5100 which won't charge or power on. My power cord (which has a European plug) failed last week and I ordered a new one from ebay (with American plug). When I plug it in the laptop the power and battery LED light up for a second and then nothing. Both my batteries are dead by now. It was working great with the old power cord.

According to the description on the back the new power cord is a PA-9 (90W) which is what I need. But I am a little suspicious since the word "Model" is misspelled - "Madel." Did someone sell me a bad cord ?? :(

I ordered another cord and I am hoping this one will work. If not, what else could be wrong with my laptop ??

Thanks for your help. The second power cord that I ordered works. So it must be the cord itself. :)
