    Inspiron 5100 won't post- 4 beeps

    Ive got an Inspiron 5100 laptop that will only boot once in a while. the rest of the time it doesnt even post, instead there are 3 beeps then a pause, and then a 4th beep. What does this beep code mean as i cant seem to find it on the web. Thanks.

    I couldn't come up with anything either...

    Might try reseating the ram & hd. Couldn't hurt.

    You'll need to be contacting Dell as I don't think they have posted anything wrt the beep codes [except for older "Phoenix" BIOS]
