It sounds like a decent deal, but its used so check in to it. See why he is selling it and what kind of condition its in. If it seems beat up I wouldn't get it, but thats me...

Apparently it is 1 year old and in excellent condition - the owner upgraded to a new system so she is selling...how would this compare in quality and performance to the following system, which I can get for $982.17, taxed and shipped:

    Inspiron E1505
    Intel® Core Duo processor T2300 (2MB Cache/1.66GHz/667MHz FSB)
15.4 inch UltraSharp? Wide Screen SXGA+ Display with TrueLife
1GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz, 2 Dimm
    Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950
    80GB 5400rpm SATA Hard Drive
Windows® XP Media Center Edition 2005
Integrated 10/100 Network Card and Modem
    8X CD/DVD Burner (DVD+/-RW) with double-layer DVD+R write capability
    Integrated Audio
    Intel PRO/Wireless 3945 802.11a/g Mini Card (54Mbps)
85 WHr 9-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery
1Yr Ltd Warranty, 1Yr Mail-In Service, and 1Yr HW Warranty Support
Genuine Windows® XP Media Center 2005 Edition re-installation CD

My motto has always been if you can afford new, buy new. If you plan on keeping your computer for any length of time, the 6000 will be obsolete much sooner than any E1505. If the E1505 is out of your price range, keep an eye out on the Dell Outlet site...You can get some pretty sweet deals on there for the same price as that used 6000.

    Just my opinion.

I would have to 2nd DSMav8r post. Take a look at the Dell deals posted on this site. You should look at the E1505 which will do better with Vista.
