Okay, so right this minute if you go to Dell's website and look at the Inspiron 6000 and select an Intel Mobile 1.6 Processor 725 it lists it as having a 533mhz bus and 2MB L2 cache.

This is incorrect according to Intel.

The Intel Mobile Processor 730 comes with a 533mhz bus not the 725. The Intel Mobile Processor 725 comes with a 400mhz bus.

The RAM I have bought with my system clear says it runs at 533mhz so does that mean my Intel 725 will run at 533mhz? Or am I actually getting the Intel Mobile 730 since the specs are in the processor listing are clearly for the 730?

    Thanks for your help.

    well-the 400 mhz fsb takes pc2700
    the 533 fsb takes ddr2.
    not compatible flip flopped.
better call dell and see what's up
    just sit down with some
Indian food and wait in line
actually online chat might be better

Thanks for the answer. I'm guess they just list it incorrectly as they specify 533mhz DDR Dual Channel RAM with it so it has to be the 533mhz board. Or at least it better be!

I have tried the chat, which is pretty worthless as the Dell tech had to "lookup" the information and never got back to me and one tech I called said it would work fine, but didn't say anything about the typo on the site.
