    Correct me if I'm wrong, but I saw on the website that the 6000 uses a AC 97 sound card??
    I thought they were offering a new HD audio version for the Intel 915GM chipset?

    just because the new chipset allows for high def audio doesn't mean manufacturers don't have options. dell cuts corners and i guess it is cutting corners with audio (among other things). it's to be expected. i dont know about purchasing any sonoma models right away. i have a feeling that the initial offerings will all change by february as soon as they start force feeding us ati cards.

    So is Dell going to be cheap and make it as an option to go for High Definition Audio? I thought all the new Sonoma boards already have the High Def audio card fixed onto the motherboard. This really makes me rethink about buying the 6000 now..[V]

    I think your expecting too much from Dell. If you really need that new technology right away you should look at the Sony Vaio FS or others.
