I am having trouble with my Inspiron laptop keyboard. Recently, all of a sudden the keyboard has been only allowing me to type a e i o and u aswell as 4. this is not the only problem those 6 characters show up in french i.e. the a e i o and u have the apostraphe above, and the 4 is a euro sign.

I initially thought it was viral, or spyware deep scans for both came up clean.
I have checked all regional settings I could find, all UK english.
I have made no changes to the hardware, and no changes to system files or any files required for the laptops operation.
The last piece of software I installed was Google Sketchup.
I have re-installed windows twice, once was a repair, the second was a complete format and install, and I am still experiencing the problem. Dell hasn't really been of any help, they have shipped out a drivers and utils CD for me but other then that nothing has come of their tech support.

    Any help would be appreciated....
