I reformatted my hard disk and deleted all the partitions. I have loaded alomst all the drivers and everything is working fine, however, my SD card reader is not working and I am not able to find any drivers for it on the Driver and Utilities CD. I also treid the Dell Site but couldn't find it.

If anyone has the drivers kindly let me know where I can get them...Thanks. :)

I don't think there was any drivers. If you have WinXP, it should have auto-recognize it.

I can see it in the Device Manager as "Ricoh R/RL/5C476(II) or Compatible Card Bus Controller". But it's still not functional. I have tried SD cards and MMC but no use. It just doesnt read any of them.

    Any ideas....

hmm...It might have gotten corrupted when it was first trying to reinstall. So give this a shot...

Go to the Device Manager place, press uninstall, and let it reinstall again.

You dont need any driver, I just re-install my Windows XP Home SP2 and my sd reader is automatically detected. I looked at device manager, and written like this:
SDA Standard Compliant SD Host Controller

if there is no yellow exclamation point or red 'x' next to the entry in device manager, then it's working fine.

are you sure you put the card all the way in (til it clicks) ? also, it will not read mmc cards ONLY sd cards.

if the card is in there correctly, then you should be able to see it as a device when you open My Computer. Like Drumfu said, make sure the card does make a snapping snound.

There's a "Chip Set: Ricoh R5C832, R5C843, Driver" described as...

Can be found under the 'Chipset' tree...

Is that what you're looking for....????

Sounds like you might not need it based on the previous posts, but.... You got me...
