Hi, I was just messing around with my system settings on my Inspiron I6000, and I saw what looks like an underclocked CPU clock reading, Is this common on all I6000's? I have the Pentium M 715 1.50ghz, thanks

Oh I just wish we could go down to 133 mhz or something... That would be cool to get down to those levels while on battery and wanting to just like browse docs or type in notepade... currently I get about 6 hours estimate on a full battery brightness all the way down. Im considering turning off my fan unless it gets up to like 35 degrees C... I'm currently running at 29 degrees C with my fan on low... 2100 rpms.. This might squeeze out more time from ym 9 cell battery

Don't pay attention to that... Get Rightmark CPU Clock Utility for realtime ... The lowest that a Pent M for the I6000 could go is 797 mhz or so.. Basically 6x133mhz basically 800 mhz. Theres also an Intel processor Product Id utility on their website.

    http://support.intel.com/support/processors/tools/piu/sb/cs-014921.htm

This always says the bus is running at like 533 mhz or slightly higher 565 mhz is the highest I've had and it gives an overclock warning.

I'm not sure what is up with WinXP... my guess is when the os was made Pent Ms really weren't around so it underestimates.

Still weird, I installed my own copy of home, not the Dell OEM, which makes the computer run as IF the processer was running at 133mhz. I'm going to try that utility, see if it works.

Ok, I got it working, the utility says that everything is reporting back as expected. Thanks.
