I am about to buya dell Inspiron 6000, but I am concerned of a few issues. I would liek this laptop to be able to play some newer games (I.E Battlefield Vietnam, Swat 4, Possibly Counter-strike Source).

Now My question is mainly, is the video card, ATI's Mibolity x300 good enough to handle these types of games. And what series does it compare too in a desktop. It's the highest option they give me when ordering. If it's not good for these games, is it easily changable later on?

The answer to your question is, Yes, the 128 MB x300 can handle those games.

So far I've been able to play CS Source with AA and AF on at 1280 x 800 with around 30-40-60 FPS. I've also downloaded and played a little Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30 with all the texture detail and stuff on...HOWEVER, you cannot have AF or AA on in this game because it severly slows it down. Other than that, still very playable.

    My specs:
    6000d
    pentium m 730
    512 MB dual channel DDR
    128 MB x300

Don't plan on changing it later on, because it doesnt really work like that with laptops. Only way to change it is if Dell releases a new video card later this year or next specifically for the 6000, then you could order it as a spare part.

Stick with the x300, its great for casual and serious play of todays games.(maybe not next generation though, but who knows)
