No matter what type media I put into my laptop it will not play it. I always get an error message C00D1199 for cd's. I can't even watch DVD's it says that the format is not supported. It all happened when I switched from a dual user on the laptop to a single user now nothing works. I've downloaded all the drivers and codecs but nothing works. Any help would be great.

I use windows media player 10 & Real Player. The software that comes with the laptop to play movies doesn't even work. I tried to download Quicktime and use it but that won't work either. No viewers I try to use will work.

    Thanks for your help.

the error message you're getting doesn't sound like it's related to this, but wmp, real player, and quicktime are all imcompatible. the files you play on qt are not viewable in real player, etc, etc. ad naseum.

having said that, it looks like your problem is elsewhere.

can you please explain in detail what you mean by 'dual user' and the changes you mention.

also, please describe the steps you go through and the error message you get; it will help determine where the problem is.
