Hey everyone, I just took my laptop complete apart today so I could paint it. I also am going to put Arctic Silver 5 on the GPU and CPU. I have been taking a lot of pictures and I will post both a painting guide as well as a heat mod guide once I finish. Unfortunately I am not going to start it until I get my laptop back together, don't want to fool with it on a 7 year old IBM. I will also have a temperature comparison before and after the heat mod for at least the GPU and CPU. Be excited, be very excited! :D

Oh by the way, I completely took my ATI x300 out. As well as many other components, does anyone know if I will have trouble booting up?

No sorry, must have written what I was doing wrong. I was just wondering if after I put everything back in place and put the laptop back together, will I have any trouble starting up my computer again, assuming everything is in the correct place?

you will pretty much have to have everything connected for the computer to boot. if the vidcard is out or the keyboard connector is out, etc... the computer will error on POST and you won't get anywhere. so the question is not "should i boot?", but *cross fingers* will it boot?

Ha ha, gotch. It better boot, lol! I think I will be OK, I have never taken a notebook apart. A little different than a desktop. If it doesn't boot, you know I will be in these forums looking for answers! :)
