When my 6000 is connected to the power supply the battery lightflickers on and off. I have to "jiggle" the plug at the back of the computer to find a position for it to stay on. I think the socket at the back may be oval and not giving a good connection. Is there an easy fix for this or does it need to go into the shop for repairs?

It seems that the socket is broken. It could be the connector or the soldering. If so, the motherboard has to be replaced, which costs a fortune if you are out of warranty.

Or you can just buy a DC power jack (search in ebay) and solder it yourself. There are also websites and local shops that would do it for $80 - $100. I know a lot of 6000 owners who had this issue.
