The bottom 2/3 of the screen on my Inspiron 6000 is flickering. When I turn on the laptop the same 2/3 of the screen is black. Has anyone else had this problem? If so what can I do to fix the problem myself.

chelet is right, you need to replace the screen. You can also try the laptop on an external monitor and I'm pretty sure it will work fine.

I have it hooked up to an external monitor and I can see everything just fine.
