I have an i6000 with a 1.6 MHz processor. Is it possible to upgrade to a faster processor, and if so, what would be involved in doing so. I assume it can be done, I'm just not sure if it's worth the effort, or if it's just too risky to pull everything apart to get to the processor.

    1.6 MHz! Wow, that's slower than a 80286!

Assuming you meant 1.6GHz, then while yes, it can be done, and no, it's not too difficult to do, it will void your warranty and probably won't add that much speed unless you get a P-M 760 or 770, but that'll cost you a good $500-$650. Unless you do a lot of CPU-intensive work like video encoding or heavy gaming (which is precluded anyways due to the x300 GPU), then you most likely won't notice the speed difference.
