    Inspiron 640 M -- Hdmi to lcd tv ??

    Hi there i have the inspiron 640m laptop and i have just bought a new
    bush 42" hdtv im looking to hook my laptop to my tv but im not sure:confused:
    exactly wich type of wire i need i know its a hdmi but i dont know whats the other end that connects to my laptop can anyone let me know and if you know were to buy the right cable can you leave the url on the thread or you can mail me at [email protected] hope to hear from you soon :D

    I believe your notebook does not have an HDMI port

    Correct, there's no HDMI output on the Inspiron 640M. The only way to get that to work would be to find a cable or adapter that has HDMI on one end, and VGA on the other. I'm not sure if that even exists, honestly. :p

    the only way you'd be able to output video to your HDTV is through VGA, if your tv supports it. There is no dongle that can support VGA to HDMI because VGA is an analog signal while HDMI is a pure digital signal.

    Hi thanks for the replys i have just bought a vga to hdmi cable from ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Black-HDMI-Ma...ryZ32837QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem this is the link can anyone tell me if this will work i already have a s-video wire aswell but its only 4 pin i dont know if it makes a different but my tv is 4 pin and my laptop is 7pin ? also i have a 4pin s-video cable to scart ? and my tv has vga input 2hdmi slots s-video input and av input hope this helps ??
