    Hi all

I have just taken delivery of a new 6400 with a WSXGA tru life screen. The resolution says its 1680 x 1050.

Having come from a much lower resoulution laptop, I was not aware of the implications of such a high res screen for browsing and general text/icon/menu etc size - I find it extremely small and not comfortable to read and work on.

I'm fearing that I have made a bad choice for my purposes (as i will not be doing much video, gaming, films etc) but wondered if there is any way that I can make the whole window larger size overall and user friendly! - I do not want to just simply lower the resolution as the window shrinks...

Any suggestions/advice please?? - I'm really surprised the screen res makes so much difference to the size of what's in the window and also taht anyone would find it comfortable to use!

    Thanks all

Well if you turn up the DPI, you will get distortion, you will also get some distortion if you lower the rez out of native. Sorry. :(

You can adjust the DPI to 120 as USAF suggested.

Also most software like Word, IE, etc have it where you can adjust the text size. This isn't changing the font size, but rather it magnifies the text a bit larger.

You can also change the size of the icons so they are bigger. Its a pain, but it is really just a matter of adjusting alot of the program settings and playing around in the display settings until you are happy.

this is exactly what the dpi setting was designed for.
