I'm going to buy an Inspiron 6400 here in UK but two possible upgrades that I've got in mind are:

changing the processor from Duo T2300 1.6 to Duo T2400 1.83 and keep the default screen 15.4" W Screen XGA TFT Display resolution: 1280x800

    or

keep the processor Duo T2300 1.6 and change the screen to 15.4" W Screen XGA TFT Display resolution: 1280x800 with TrueLife™

The price is exactly the same for both changes. What would you guys recommend?

    Thanks

Here in the US, Truelife adds $30 and the T2300 to T2400 adds $100. T2300 to T2400 is a 10% speed increase, depending on what you use the 6400 for, could be/not useful.

Truelife is just glossy instead of matte, I have it and like it, you may/not.

You can't really compare Truelife to CPU speed. Perhaps both/neither your call.

For the price perspective upgrade, I'll choose the better CPU.

The glossy screen can be annoying at a bright setting - mirror like.
I prefer the matte but it's personal preference.

    I have the duo 1.66 truelife & p-m i6000 1.86 matte & I like the older model.
