    I just updated my BIOS from A06 to A07, however I was very unsatisfied with this update, Now there is more heat, the fan runs almost all the time, and the battery life became lower. As if the laptop is getting more power. I really appreciate it if someone could give me a link to the first BIOS that came with my system (A03). And how can I downgrade the BIOS version?

    thanks;

    The only ones I could find are the A05 BIOS, which is the closest to A03 listed on the website. I have absolutely no idea how downgrading the BIOS would affect the laptop though.

    EDIT: Apparently, Dell doesn't appreciate direct links to their website! Go to where you found the A07 BIOS and look for a "Other Versions" link. Go there and you should find the A05 BIOS listed.

    If anyone knows how to fix this link feel free!

    I already have A04 A05 A06 and A07 however none of these will fix the problem. Many ppl start complaining about the heats problems from A04, and A03 (the BIOS that came with system) looks like the best one.

    I wouldn't do a BIOS update unless you had to. It's not something you want to be upgrading all the time, especially if you don't know what it fixes/changes.

    I don't know if it is possible to go back to a previous BIOS.

    Mine shipped with A03 and I've been using A06 for a few weeks, but I can't really compare if it's any hotter because I'm running things on it now that I didn't have when I had A03.

    I would be interested to know if you can rollback the BIOS though, I don't see why not.

    wouldnt the newest one have the less bugs?

    maybe 07 might have something to do with limiting from updating to the new cpu but 06 should be better then the rest?

    I went from A05 that came with the laptop to A06 when I saw it labeled as critical. I then saw A06 was gone and it was back to A05. During a "chat" with Dell asking him about this, he seemed concerned and since it was a chat I really couldn't tell if he even knew of A06 or what it did. Anyway, he had me re-flash or downgrade to A05. Neither seemed to make much difference although with A06 the fan may have run more. With A05 it hardly runs at all since I mostly browse.

    I dout I'll be upgrading to A07 at this time since everything is running fine and it's labeled as optional.

    yes the system is now much cooler and the fan barely turns on, I will never upgrade the BIOS again except if its necessary.
