    Hello!

I've got an Inspiron 6400 (same as e1505). I've got a 60gb 7200rpm SATA drive in there right now, but it's just too tiny. So I ordered a new 160gb 5400rpm Sata drive from newegg, it arrives tomorrow. Today I looked into the upgrade procedure, and I saw that there should be two screws holding the HDD in place, these screws are not present on my laptop. I shut down and was able to pull the drive out no problem, so I guess i've never had these screws. Would you worry about that and call dell for new screws or does it not matter?

I wouldn't be too concerned with it. The screws are normally just there to keep the drive tight with the chassis, but they don't really help if the hard disk is placed in the slot, where it can't move. IF there is a little play in the moment of the hard disk, then you may want to consider buying some cheap screws from somewhere, as the hard disk may dislocate itself from the SATA interface.

Nope, it's nice and tight, so I'll just not worry about it. Thanks.
