Hello. I looked up everywhere but just could not find any solution to my problem.
I have a inspiron 6400 and the warranty is good until the end of this year.
Few days ago, while experimenting with the inside of my notebook, I accidently took off the thermal tape that sits on the heatsink for the chipset. I actually applied as5 on the cpu and tried doing the same for the chipset but the thickness is just not the same. And now there is a gap between the heatsink and the chipset. Does anybody know where I can get a thermal tape or pad equivalent of the one that sits between the heatsink and the chipset?
I was thinking of just buying another heatsink but the one I have is fine. I just need to fill the gap and not sure what I can use. I tried using some thermal tape but that was too thin as well. The laptop is hot after this incident. Do I really need to get a new heatsink and if I do, I would have to purchase it right?
    Any help please.
