I did a clean install of XP over the current Vista OS. Everything went as planned until I realised that a few of the Drivers required for bits of hardware were still missing, namely my ethernet card and sound card.
Just wondered if someone could help me locate a full list of drivers for every component in the laptop which are compatible with XP.
I remember there being about 7 components that couldnt be installed including the two I previously mentioned.
If I need to supply any other info please tell me.
p.s. I already checked the dell site for drivers and had no luck

The Dell site is supposed to hold all drivers for every parts they enabled on each model. Drivers for all possible Inspiron 6400 components are supposed to be here http://support.dell.com/support/dow...SPIRONI6400/E1505&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid=

All three of the listed sound card drivers told me I didnt have the required hardware in my machine to install each driver.
The only one I managed to get working was the ethernet controller. -
Make sure to install the chipset drivers first. Then try uninstalling whatever is under sound, video and game controllers in the device manager. Reboot and reinstall the audio drivers from the website.
