Ok, about 2 months after i bought my inspiron dell started shipping them with the newer core2duo merom processors and i remember vaguely some discussion about whether or not it would be possible to upgrade the notebooks shipped with the previous coreduo (forget their designation) to the newer merom ones, and that all that would be required in theory was a bios upgrade.

I couldn't find anything in the search thing so i was wondering does anyone know if this is possible?

K-Tron has the T5300 installed in his E1505. So, any Socket M Core 2 Duo should work.

No need for drivers. Memory and CPUs do not need drivers because they are at such a low level in the system.

Though you can sometimes get enhanced features from CPUs with additional drivers, though I've only seen this in AMD processors.
