This is my first post... hope i'm putting this in the right place.

I've been reading up on core 2 duo for a while now, but I still haven't found the answer to these simple questions I've had:

    1) Assuming core duo will be discounted in october/november/december (with the rumoured vista coupons), should I get a cheap top-of-the-line core duo (say 2.16 GHz) or an average (around 1.8 GHz) core 2 duo at regular price?

    2) Is Intel's new Santa Rosa centrino platform reallly worth the wait?

FYI- I'm not going to be doing any gaming... primarily photoshop, web design, school work, and internet.

Like it's been said, if you don't need the laptop right now then wait until you need it.

You have to realise Santa Rosa is coming out around April 2007.
