    Inspiron 6400 question.

    Just wondering on average what is your Core 2 CPU temp on startup, I know this may vary on room temp etc I just wanted a rough idea thanks.

    I have this laptop and I have an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and it very rarely gets hot -- unless it's on something like a bed, which it should be on anyway.

    It also has two vents on the top near the keyboard, which help vent out the heat, although they never get hot anyway.

    yeah those 2 vents by the keyboard do not get hot, i just wonder whether they draw air in rather that out...

    on startup, according to I8kfanGUI the temp is 24*c. of course this will probably vary depending on the processors clockspeed (eg a 2.0GHz C2D will be warmer then a 1.66GHz C2D processor)

    only when you run programs that are very intensive does the system warm up alot. highest for me is 72*c running a audio converting program converting 500 songs, prime95, and Notebook hardware Control stress test at the same time.

    after the system has been on for maybe an hour, it averages at 40*c to 50*c
    (fans try to keep it within those)
