    Hey guys,
I have a quick question for you.

I bought a new wireless routeur and I'm looking to upgrade the wifi card in my old Inspiron 6400 for an N-capable one.
I was hoping to salvage the OEM card from my G73JH but the connectors don't seem to fit.

What N wifi card can be purchased for this model?
It doesn't have to be the latest ones, its just want to add N capacity to my backup notebook.

    EDIT:
I found the Intel 4965AGN that was optional in the Inspiron 6400 but it is a 3 antenna card. Was there a sub-4965 available with only 2 antenna?

I don't think there's a 4965 with two antennas... but if the 4965 works, you can use it with two antennas. There's no reason it shouldn't work, but some older machines just don't play well with newer wifi cards. You can also try the Dell 1500 or 1510 or maybe even 1520 cards if the 4965 doesn't work.

Well I received the Intel 4965AGN and installed it right away. Not as quick and simple as my G73JH but relatively easy still. Updated the drivers and Voila!... average connection speed alternates between 243Mbps and 270Mbps with some spikes at 300Mbps.

    I am very pleased :D

Hi kowell, I also own an Inspiron 6400 (in my case with an Intel 3945ABG card).

Could you explain where did you place the antennas in order to get a good reception? Was it difficult?

    Thanks a lot.
