    I used to have a Toshiba notebook wherein I am able to adjust the video shared memory from the BIOS.
    Can this be done on my Inspiron 640m?

    No...the driver takes as much as it thinks it needs, up to a limit determined based on the amount of RAM you have. That will not improve the performance of the card though...

    Yes, memory allocation is dynamic. You don't have any control over it. The driver will allocate as required.

    yep you are all corect.just installed a new ram. video memory went up to 224mb.
