I have a strange problem with my 8500. If I install the drivers for the ATI radeon 9000M then the LCD will only work until right before the Windows splash screen. If I boot to safe mode the LCD looks fine and after I uninstall the ATI driver I can use my laptop again. was fine. I checked to see if the card was dead by hooking it up to an external monitor and the display The downside of using the vga_safe driver is the screen is shaky and the keyboard is less responsive. I've downloaded the drivers from dell and ati, and get the same result with both. I figure the ATI card is dead or almost dead. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

no, its not dieing, it sounds like a driver problem. dry using a graphics card driver cleaner to remove the drivers, then reinstall them again.
