I thought it was the memory chips, but my 8600 won't boot, it starts to, then shuts off after about 10 seconds.
Anyone know where I can get a cheap replacement motherboard for my laptop?

    Thanks!

its hard to say but ebay would probably be your cheapest bet, you'll still end up paying around 200 bucks or if your lucky less, it might be cheaper just to buy a low config 8600 and swap over your good parts

Ebay is your best bet unless you still have warrenty left. I would make sure it is the motherboard before spending the money . I had a problem and thought it was the mother board and it turned out bieng the Hard Drive.
