I said in a previous post I'm interested in upgrading the memory on my i8600 to 1 GB ram. i've been reading around and it seems that people are having some heat issues at the higher memory. just wanted to know if anyone could let me know if this has been a problem or if it isn't really noticeable.

Well, my 8600 has 1 GB RAM, and yes, it gets very hot, and I would not recommend letting that area touch your skin for too long.
I too wonder if it's related to the amount of RAM. I have compared my temperatures with other users through the Dell community sight and we all get the same temperature range anywhere between 42 and 55 degrees Celsius. -
Have you turn the fans on
there is software my 8600 runs at 38C -
The video card doesn't. My radeon 9600 pro turbo runs at 100°C.

You do know that that is near the destruction point of the card andrew. Are you sure that isn't *F. You can get a program called fangui something or other and it will cool down your laptop for you.
