Does any one know if the Inspiron 8600 will accept
PC3200 DDR 400mhz memory? If so, is there any noticeable performance
gains?
Thanks.

Someone correct me if I am in error here . . . Your system was designed to work with DDR PC2700 333Mhz memory . . . And as such, will not perform beyond those parameters. So, no, you will not realize any performance gains, assuming that the said memory would work and/or be recognized by your system.
