Yes thats right,
Further to my thread last week, it appears that Dell Asia Pacific has not only removed the Inspiron 9200, but now the Inspiron 9100 (known as the Inspiron XPS* in the United States) has also been yanked from the range.
But, the Inspiron 6000 now has the Radeon X300 graphics card available (with an X800 coming later)[]
Hopefully the 9300 is only just around the corner....

* Not sure why 9100 became XPS. I live in Adelaide Australia where we make the "Holden Monaro" which is rebadged to a "Pontiac GTO" for the US market. Is a simple name better to remember in the US?? []

the Inspiron XPS is also sold as the 9100 in Europe. I think they stuck with XPS in the U.S. so people equated that to the desktop gaming rig they already have.
As far as making names simple for the u.s. market, well, not to be defensive but people just haven't heard of the brand Holden over here and unknown brands don't sell well, so it's best to sell it under a Pontiac badge. Weren't the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles changed to the Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles over there? I'd say that's a simplification []

Not heard of General Motors - Holden (GMH)....hmmmmm. Unknown brands hey?
Ok, so who has any problems with "Pontiac Monaro" then[]
p.s. It's sold as a "Holden Monaro" in Europe.
p.p.s. I own a "Kia Carnival" which is sold as a "Kia Sodona" in the US only. I'm just curious why stuff only gets rebadged in the US...[]
