Seeking some advice here...My inspiron 9300 will not take a charge from the ac adaptor. My initial thoughts were that I had a battery issue the Ion battery. So I went to dell and purchased a new battery 2 weeks ago. Plugged that guy in and my theory was a bust. Next, I turned to the ac adapter and decided it must be the problem. Back to dell to drop some more $$$ - just arrived and...well, let's just say I wouldn't be writing to this post if that solved my problem. I have surfed through various other posting will no avail. The laptop can run fine on just the ac power - just no juice is getting to the battery to recharge it. I went into the BIOS set-up and it stated that it did not recognize the ac adapter - can't figure why that may be the case, but none of the less I've got nothing but Dell products here - no knock-offs. Any suggestions or theories? I just can't believe I could have a bad motherboard here - the laptop works great otherwise. Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions - greatly appreciated!

There could be a broken connection on the motherboard from the power connector and battery connector..

I'm at roughly the same stage with my inspiron 9300. In addition to the steps you've taken, I downloaded a new bios. Unfortunately to run the install I need 10% battery power which means I need to recharge the battery which means I need a new bios.....Did you have any luck?
