    Hi,

I have an Inspiron 9300, XP Home, Latest Dell NVidia drivers for the Go6800 card.

When I press FN+F8 to switch video outputs the little icons appear rapidly and allow me to switch, BUT the actual switch takes a while to take effect, somewhere around 20 seconds.

    Is that normal?

    Thanks,

    Keops

That sounds long to me, but I don't have this model. Maybe someone else can confirm. You might also check for updated drivers in the interim.

the switch on my 6000 when plugged into the tv take a little while. maybe 10 to 15 seconds.

when plugged into lcd display, it's faster.

it all depends on what you're plugging into and what your current config is.

Thanks for the replies, I've got the latest drivers from Dell. I am planning to try drivers from other sources, but according to doobie04 it varies with what I plug into. This is for my tv, he might be right.

    Thanks,

    Keops

I've installed the 81.85 drivers from www.laptopvideo2go.com and it fixed my slow switched. It's now instantaneous.... and Quake 4 also seems to run a bit better!
