    Hi All,
I know this subject has been beat to death....but anyway
can a 2.0GHz Intel Pentium M-750 (Sonoma) Processor w/2MB L2 Cache- 533MHz FSB really perform on par with a Pentium 4 3.2 GHZ counterpart ??

I just want to be sure because, my old notebook that I am upgrading from (Dell Inspiron 8200) has a 2 GHZ Northwood and I want to be sure it will a noticable difference both are clocked at the same speed ???

    Or should I get a P4 3.2GHZ one instead ??

    Thanks......Shkj

Im not sure if you'll get a noticable diff. or not but yes a 2.0GHz Intel Pentium M-750 (Sonoma) Processor w/2MB L2 Cache- 533MHz FSB can perform on par with a Pentium 4 3.2 GHZ counterpart.
but you will diff. get better battery life and it wont get as hot

We did an experiment at work after I got mine. We ran the pi test on a bunch of the machines there as well as machines people had at home. What do you know I came in second beating out ALL of the machines at work! I know that doesn't really mean much but it says that it is at least as good as any machine people are sitting in front of 8 hours a day. The machine that beat it was an Athalon 64 or what ever those are and that only won by a couple of percent it was basically a tie.

I do program development for a living and I think this will be more than fast enough for that at from what I have seen so far.

The PM will do just as well, give you more battery life, a not-hot machine, and a lighter computer. Overall, its better.
