I bought my Inspiron 9300 with the NVidia 6800 Go video card in August 2005. During that time the video card was replaced twice (one of them lasted a month). My warranty expired in August 2008, and now THIS video card is dying, so if it gets replaced it'll be the fourth video card. I plan on getting a new laptop in May or so anyway (hopefully if the Asus K-series comes out by then), but I really need my laptop until then, and it's getting annoying to try and use it with flickering and lines running across my screen.
I checked Dell's site and they want a ridiculous $400-something for a refurbished replacement video card. Does anyone know any other options other than just dealing with a dying video card for a month or two? Should I even bother contacting Dell about it?

There isn't much you can do:
- Don't bother with the expense of fixing it
- Use another computer if possible (maybe someone can loan you a machine)
- Sell the Inspiron altogether or in parts (keep the hard drive and buy an enclosure for it; you can use it for back up purposes) -
The cheapest replacement card I have seen for that system was for $220 on hardforum a few weeks back.
If your system has friend 4 graphics cards, its time to get rid of the system as it is a money pit.
You can get money by selling the known good parts. That will put you towards a new system
