My laptop AC adapter cord was overheating, as was the laptop itself, and it would only turn on if I had the cord seated in just a certain way, if bumped it would freeze and then shut off. Then it started making a loud noise when it was on, sounded like a fan on a high setting. This all started happening after I was outside of my one year warrenty. (the cord got hot enough that the outer casing melted away a little bit and exposed the actually wires)
Anyway, I replaced the cord, thinking that it was the problem, and it worked fine for a few months.
Then it started doing it again, and if I had the cord seated in the right spot I could get my laptop to turn on, but if it got bumped or something it was freeze and shut off, and it was making the noise again.
Now it's shut off and I can't get it to turn back on.
If possible I'd like to take care of the problem myself, rather than paying for someone to do it for me, kinda low on cash. Anyway, any help would be much appreciated.

Does this happen even when you try running it without a battery in place? You may want to check battery health (hold the lightning bolt button on the battery, the more lights show up the better). Some batteries will give off error messages and force switch-offs for odd stuff like that.

The battery wont charge and it's dead, I tried running it without the battery already and it still doesn't work
