My Dell Inspiron 9300 out of the blue last night started becoming unresponsive after boot; initially, as it's loading all the startup items I can see a lot of HD activity and then, as soon as it's done loading, it becomes completely unresponsive: I cannot open anything.
I tried booting into safe mode and that seems OK; however, short of reinstalling Windows, I am not sure what to do.
Anyone has any suggestion? I would greatly appreciate any help I can get.
    Thanks :)

What have you done recently? Uninstall or install any programs? Any new drivers?

That's the thing, I don't remember doing anything other than uninstalling LimeWire, after which I was still able to do a backup to MyBook and browse...so nothing that I can think of that wuld cause such a problem.

I am now running a Full System Scan in Safe Mode with Networking: so far, no issues...
