Im pretty satisfied with my Inspiron 9300 after a couple of years of service and am considering upgrading the ram memory to 2 GB (I currently have 1 GB). I know it's somewhat outdated with dual cores and multiple cores nowadays, but it has worked fine for me and right now I dont have a need to change it for another laptop.

So I'm considering upgrading the ram memory and was wondering if I have to buy the 533 MHz (PC2 4200) ram memory, or if I can get a 667 MHz (PC2 5300) for my laptop?

If I can get the PC2 5300 ram memory, I was wondering if you could tell me if these would work well:

    two of these:

    or this:

Please let me know your opinions, they'd be greatly appreciated.

They are both equivalent. Though if your laptop came with the 4200... sticking with it would be the safest bet, though Newegg does have a great return policy!

Both of them will work well, just keep in mind you have to buy 2 for the Newegg site just because thats a 1GB package. You may want to find one with 2GB packed into a single package. Kingston is a great brand but others like Corsair and Crucial are not bad either.

Thank you for replying, I'll look for two 4200 ones then.
